HVAC Ductwork
Ducts are conduits or passages used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to deliver and remove air. The necessary airflows include supply air, return air, and exhaust air. Ducts commonly also deliver ventilation air as part of the supply air. Thus, air ducts are one method of ensuring acceptable indoor air quality as well as thermal comfort. A duct system is also referred to as ductwork. The ductwork BAS-CVS offers can be made from galvanized steel, stainless steel, black/mild steel (carbon steel) and Aluminum.

CVS offers FyreWrap Elite 1.5 Duct Insulation, which meets local authority requirements, complies with NFPA 96 standards, and has been tested to various standards, including ASTM E2336, ASTM E2816, UL 2221, ISO 6944, BS 476 Part 24, EN 1366-1, ASTM E119, and ASTM E814. This coverage addresses nearly all applications with zero clearance to combustible materials at any given location. FyreWrap Elite 1.5 Duct Insulation has been tested for various duct types, including smoke control, stairwell and vestibule pressurization, ventilation, supply/return ducts, commercial dryer exhaust, and refuse and linen chutes. To achieve a 2-hour rating for Duct Type A, 38 mm thickness (one layer) of insulation is required. To achieve a 2-hour rating for Duct Type B, 76 mm thickness (two layers) of insulation is required. The insulation is compressible, providing an advantage in space-constrained areas or in complex configurations with multiple ducts running in the same location.

Life Safety Dampers
BA-CVS-SAFE4 offers a wide range of UL Classified Life Safety Dampers which include fire dampers, smoke dampers, combination fire & smoke dampers, corridor dampers and ceiling dampers. These life safety dampers help prevent the spread of flame, smoke and heat in the occurrence of a fire. The complete range of BA-CVS-SAFEa4 dampers is in compliance with all applicable codes and standards such as UL, NFPA and ICC.
Fire Dampers
CVS-SAFE4 Fire Dampers are UL555 tested and labelled devices that are intended for installation where air ducts penetrate or terminate at openings in walls or partitions; in air transfer openings in partitions; and where air ducts extend through floors as specified in NFPA 90A, designed to close upon the detection of heat to further maintain the integrity of the fire-rated barrier. Fire dampers can be installed vertically or horizontally in Static or Dynamic Systems. As required by the NFPA-90A Chapter 5 & IBC Chapter 7, 1-1/2-hour fire dampers are required in walls, floors, and partitions with a fire-resistance rating of less than 3-hours; whereas, 3-hour dampers are applied when there are fire ratings of 3-hours or more.
Smoke Dampers
CVS-SAFE4 Smoke dampers which are also known as leakage-rated dampers are tested and labelled under UL555S and are constructed to restrict the spread of smoke in HVAC systems that are designed to be automatically shut down in the event of a fire, or open to control the movement of smoke within a building when the HVAC system is part of an engineered smoke control system as specified in NFPA 90A. CVS-SAFE4 dampers are marked with respect to the Leakage Class at the elevated test temperature of 250°F or 350°F at minimum velocities of 2000 feet per minute at 4 in. w.g. of static pressure for the range of “3V” blade models and maximum velocities of 4000 feet per minute at 6 in. w.g. of static pressure for the range of “Airfoil” blade models.
Combination Fire & Smoke Dampers
CVS-SAFE4 Combination Fire & Smoke Dampers are UL555 and UL555S tested and intended to protect HVAC penetrations made through fire and smoke rated walls and floors. These fire and leakage-rated dampers have been investigated for both a fire protection rating of 1-1/2-hour or 3-hour and a leakage rating as defined under Class I or Class II. Leakage ratings of combination fire & smoke dampers are determined at an elevated temperature of 250°F or 350°F. Leakage ratings of combination fire & smoke dampers are established based on test conditions using heated air. The basic requirement for combination fire & smoke dampers is operation at minimum velocities of 2000 feet per minute at 4 in. w.g. of static pressure for the range of “3V” blade models and maximum velocities of 4000 feet per minute at 6 in. w.g. of static pressure for the range of “Airfoil” blade models when closed.
Out of Wall & Front Access Dampers
CVS-SAFE4 Out of Wall and Front Access Combination Fire & Smoke Dampers are tested to UL555 and UL555S standards. These UL Classified dampers are intended to protect HVAC penetrations made through fire and smoke rated walls and floors. These fire and leakage-rated dampers have been investigated for both a fire protection rating of 1-1/2-hour and a leakage rating as defined under Class I or Class II at an elevated temperature of 350°F. Out of Wall and Front Access Smoke Dampers are tested to UL555S standard. These UL Classified dampers are intended to protect HVAC penetrations made through only smoke rated walls and floors. These leakage-rated dampers have been investigated for a leakage rating as defined under Class I or Class II at an elevated temperature 350°F. Leakage ratings of combination fire & smoke dampers and smoke dampers are established based on test conditions using heated air. The basic requirement for a combination fire & smoke damper and a smoke damper is to operate at 2000 feet per minute when open and 4″ w.g. of static pressure when closed. These models are intended for installation in fire barriers with limited or restricted access to the other side of the fire barrier…

Air Terminal Units (ATU) / VAV Boxes
Air Terminal Units (ATUs) are zone-level air distribution devices that regulate airflow to ensure maximum occupant comfort. These units control the temperature within specific zones, maintaining the desired temperature in occupied spaces. In ATU systems, air is supplied by a single air handling unit. The two most common accessories are hot water coils and electric coils for supplementary heating, often referred to as reheat. Air terminal units are available in both standalone configurations and BMS-compatible applications, including BACnet, Modbus, and LonWorks.
